Timber firm to locate staff new jobs after Sutter Creek factory fire
Timber Products, which was founded in 1918, creates a variety of wood goods. The business, which is renowned for its hardwood plywood, is dedicated to sustainable development and provides a highly integrated production strategy with 9 manufacturing sites, an import division, and a national logistics and transportation division.
Following the destruction of the wood processing facility in Sutter Creek by fire last week, Timber Products says it is seeking to locate alternative employment for hundreds of employees. The 150 or so employees of the Sutter Creek factory are being sought after for positions at other manufacturing facilities or with other local firms, according to a statement released by the Oregon-based corporation on Friday.
The big fire on July 25 is still being investigated as to its origin. The particleboard business caught fire 10 days before it celebrated its 50th anniversary.
